1. Basic Information |
1.1 What is NameCaptor.com?
NameCaptor.com is a website dedicated to catching registered domain names as soon as they expire using an innovative and powerful own designed system. By placing a backorder at our site, our clients have good chances of getting the expiring domain they want at one of the cheapest prices around.
|
1.2 Why get an expiring domain when I can register a new one?
Currently most good domain names have been taken. Most of the experts in the domain market think and have said that it's more likely you can find a good domain name in the expiring domain lists than thinking one yourself and finding it free.
Another reason why a catched domain may have an increased value is because that domain name may have been used by someone else and may have some traffic, be listed in some directories, have ongoing links, Google PageRank, etc. Some benefits that may help your site in many ways. |
1.3 What is a "Backorder"?
A backorder is the formal request to register an expiring domain name. When you place a backorder at our site, we will do our best to get the domain you are looking and transfer it to you as soon as we catch it.
|
1.4 Great, but how much it costs?
At this moment, you can request a backorder at our system from just 15.99$ (you can check the full price charts here) and includes one year registration for the registered domain. This is one of the cheapest prices around!
|
1.5 And what happens if you can't catch my domain?
If we can't catch your domain on the first chance, the domain will enter in the "monitoring phase". During this period, which can last up to 14 days, the system will monitor your domain and will try to catch it again in case it becomes available.
But, if we can't catch the domain you requested you don't need to worry! We will credit back the amount of your backorder to your account balance and you will be able to use it again to request another backorder whenever you find another interesting expiring domain name.
|
1.6 When this refund will be processed?
The refund is usually processed within 15 minutes after the system detects the domain will be unreachable. A domain can stay in pending status for a maximum of 2 weeks after the drop date. During this period, which is known as "monitoring phase", the money will remain blocked since the system still expects to register the domain succefully. Once this period has ended, the funds will be credited automatically to your account and the domain status will be switched to failed. Please also note that you can request a backorder removal at anytime. In that case, you will be refunded immediately after its approval by one of our support team members. |
1.7 You say I can cancel my backorder requests at anytime. Could you please tell me more about this?
However, any domain in pending status may be cancelled at anytime and, in case of cancellation or removal request, the funds will be refunded to your account inmediately after request aproval. Please note that Removal Requests must be manually reviewed by one of our support team members before being approved, so please allow a minimum of 24 hours for your request to be processed. Please also note that if the system catches your domain before your removal request has been accepted, although placed, the domain will be charged and transferred to your account as the backorder was still active at the moment of registration. |
1.8 Is possible to request a backorder for a domain that has been previously backordered by another user?
No, NameCaptor.com is a First-Come First-Served system. This means that once one user has placed a backorder request for a domain name, no one else can place a request over the same domain.
|
1.9 Let's suppose I have succefully backordered a domain. How and when I will receive the domain transfer?
At the moment, NameCaptor.com works with several registrars. Before a domain is catched we can't know which of our partners/resellers will get it. Because of that you may be required to open an account at the registrar that has catched it before receiving the transfer. When we receive the notification that tells us the domain has been catched, we will send you an email with detailed instructions regarding the domain transfer. Domains are transferred via Push method on the site they have been registered.
All domain transfers are processed within 7 days of the catch.
|
1.10 For which domain extensions do you accept backorders?
Currently at NameCaptor.com you can backorder domains of the following extensions: .com, .net, .org, .info, .eu, .biz, .us and .cn.
|
1.11 Are there any extensions that have special requirements?
Yes. For .US domains you are required to satisfy the Nexus requirements. Full info about these requirements can be found here. Also .CN registry does not allow certain domain names from being registered. For example, domain names related to gambling or pornography are usually not allowed. CNNIC reviews all domain name registrations, and may request that certain domains be deleted. In case this happens to you, NameCaptor will try to refund your money back but the refund will be only issued if we receive the money back from CCNIC, which is not ever possible. When you backorder a domain at NameCaptor.com you accept that you satisfy all official rules and regulations for a particular extension and any infringement to of these regulations will be at your sole own risk. |

|
3.3 I see you have different deposit types in your Cashier page. Can you please explain which are the differences between those?
There are 2 basic deposit types: Fixed Amount Deposits and Custom Amount Deposits.
Fixed Amount Deposits are deposits ready-to-buy some specific products (although once you have the money into your account you don't necessarily need to buy that specific product). You exactly deposit the amount you need to buy one of our items. In this catagory you will find, for instance, Single Backorder Deposits (the exact amount of money required to request a backorder), 3-Backorders Pack, etc.
In the other hand, Custom Deposits allow you to deposit money in bulk. You select the amount of money you want to deposit into your account and this is what you pay. This type of deposits are recommended for the individuals that request a good number of backorder or use the Marketplace service.
|

|
3.5 I see that in "My requests" section each domain is associated to an small icon. Which is the meaning of these icons?
These icons tell you the status of your backorder for a particular domain. Please check the following table to see the meaning of each icon.
|

|
|
Registered and Pending Transfer. The domain has been catched and is in queue to be transferred to your management account (this process may take from 5 to 7 days)
|
|
Pending backorder. The domain hasn't expired or it has entered in the monitoring phase. |
|
Failed. The system failed in catching your domain and the domain is no longer available.
|
|
4. Post-Payment accounts |
4.1 What is a post-payment account?
By default, every new account opened at NameCaptor is a pre-payment account, which means that you are requested to pay in advance before placing a backorder. A post-payment account allows you to pay only after the domain is registered.
|
4.2 Who is eligible to have a post-payment account?
Only users with a positive history with a NameCaptor's pre-payment account will be allowed to have a post-payment account. This means that you are required to buy successfully at least one pre-payment backorder to be eligible to have a post-payment account. If you have already backordered one or more domains and are interested in moving your account to post-payment, please email us using our contact form and we will be more than happy to study your case and move your account to post-payment if you fullfill all the requirements.
|
4.3 When and how I'll be requested to pay for my domains?
When we catch one of your requested domains you will receive a notification via email in which you will be requested to pay for the domain(s). You may pay your pending amount at our "Cashier", you will find a specific box including all the details regarding your pending payment.
If you have enough funds in your account at the moment we register your domain, the system will automatically deduct the amount of the transaction from your NameCaptor account.
Domains will be transferred to user's account only after receiving full payment for the registered domains.
Please note that if we don't receive the payment for the registered domains within a reasonable lapse of time (the standard period is 7 days, but it can be extended upon request), NameCaptor reserves all rights to take any available actions to receive the payment for those domains. These actions may include domain blocking, selling or auctioning, account blocking, or any other legal action which is available to us.
|
4.4 Can I request an unlimited number of post-payment backorders?
No. By default, post-payment accounts come with a limitation in the number of post-payment backorders an user can request at the same time (please check the example below to understand how it works). You will be able to find all these details in your "My Account" page once your account has been configured.
Please note although you have reached you maximum number of post-payment backorders, you still may place some backorders although these must be placed using the pre-payment method.
For instance: You have a limit of 5 active domains and you place 5 backorders. At this moment, you still may place more backorders, but you will be required to pay in advance for these since your limit of post-payment backorders has been reached. Now, let's suppose a backorder fails. At this moment you only have 4 active backorders, and a limit of 5 possible post-payment backorders, so you can request an additional post-payment backorder.
|
5. Slabs and Pricing |
5.1 What are Slabs?
Slabs are pricing categories. At the moment, NameCaptor offers 3 different Slabs (1-Base, 2-Domainer, 3-Domainer Pro), bigger the number, lower the price. Each account falls into a category or another depending on its yearly purchases volume at our site. You can check the pricing and the requirements associated to each Slab at our pricing page.
|
5.2. How this 'yearly volume' will be calculated?
The yearly volume is calculated accumulating all valid transactions between the current date and the same day-month of the previous year.
|
5.3 I'm new to NameCaptor and I would like take advantage of higher-slab pricing but I haven't made any purchase yet. Is that possible?
Yes. The only thing you need to do is to deposit the required amount for the Slab you want to take advantage of, through NameCaptor's cashier. From this point, your further orders will be charged from your account balance at the new pricing.
For instance: You want to get Slab 2 pricing. Then you go to the cashier and deposit 200$ (the required amount to reach Slab 2). After that, you have 200$ in your account and Slab 2 prices will apply to all your further orders until you reach Slab 3. Also, these orders will be charged from your account balance while it is positive. |
